I've always been better with visual things than I have been with words. That being said, this week has been one of trying new things, so I think it's about time I started telling the stories that go hand-in-hand with all of the images I've been making for the past year or so. Photos are fleeting in today's digital world and rarely tell a whole story by themselves. I started a website this week to begin building a somewhat professional portfolio of my work for after I graduate from college, but that doesn't tell the whole story of my experience creating each image and the thought process that goes into each piece. Journaling has been something I've been interested in for a while, but never had the right platform to most effectively share my thoughts and pair them with the images that help to tell the complete story of the experience. After stumbling across VSCO Journal I'm happy to say that I'm ready to start writing more, if for nothing else than the opportunity to get my thoughts out somewhere.

I'm excited and nervous to start sharing collections of thoughts and images here that help provide some insight into my life and the adventures that I take with the people I love. Each story is unique, each experience is important somehow, and I want to do my best to share that mindset, even if my words are a little clunky and disjointed at first. I'm starting a whole new chapter of my life this year, one with more responsibilities, new challenges and so much potential for great things to happen - It's exciting and scary and oh-so-inevitable so I'm doing my best to embrace it and make the absolute best out of each experience that comes my way.
